Supported by Arab Bank, Schools Renovation Program Concludes in Cooperation with Ministry of Education and INJAZ

Supported by Arab Bank, Schools Renovation Program has recently concluded in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and INJAZ – Palestine. The program aims at improving school conditions and providing students with a healthy schooling environment.
Implemented for the fifth consecutive year, the project renovated the infrastructure of five public schools, selected in coordination with the Ministry of Education based on the schools’ maintenance needs. The schools covered were: Ibn Taymiyyah Primary School for Boys - Yatta, Karisah Secondary School for Girls - Dura, Masqat Secondary School for Boys –Bethany, Kufeirit High School for Girls – Jenin and Zenobia High School for Girls – Tulkarm.
Commenting on this support, Mr. Jamal Hurani, Country Manager at Arab Bank – Palestine stated that The Schools Renovation Program is considered one of the key sustainable development initiatives that aim at establishing safer, more convenient schooling environments for students. The impact of the Program was optimized further by several volunteering activities including workshops and training courses for enhancing the academic caliber as well as educational lectures for students as part of INJAZ’s framework, this is in addition to the volunteering initiatives carried out by Arab Bank employees.
INJAZ - Palestine Chairman, Mr. Bassam Walweel, affirmed that Schools Renovation Program is aligned with the mission and vision of INJAZ to increase future opportunities for youth and prepare them for the labor market, through creating healthy learning environments that foster academic performance and focus on development programs, thus ensuring that the selected schools included in the project offer the best learning environment and facilities to their students.
Rania Kutteneh, General Manager, INJAZ – Palestine, thanked Arab Bank for its continuous support to INJAZ, and its keenness to be part of the projects aimed at promoting youth development in Palestine, through supporting the Schools Renovation Program for the fifth consecutive year. Such valuable contribution affirms Arab Bank’s vital role in supporting the community in general and the educational sector in particular.
It is worth mentioning that 23 schools have benefited from the Schools Renovation Program implemented for the fifth consecutive year, reaching over 10,000 students. The maintenance work in this year’s project has been expanded significantly to solve issues that included humidity, ceiling leakages in school buildings, repair of sanitary units, replacing drinking water units, as well as painting interior and exterior walls and providing security to schools that had their doors and windows repaired. Moreover, all required maintenance work has been completed for each school within the agreed timeframe to guarantee each school’s readiness, as validated by a committee comprising of representatives from Arab Bank, INJAZ and the Ministry of Education.
